Google Research puts AI agents to work at the lab bench
Google Research showed AI agents working with real lab robotics to design molecules, test them and learn from the results in closed loops. The team says this produced protein binders with single digit nanomolar affinity for FAP, a protein linked to solid tumors, and better hit rates in DNA aptamer experiments. Google stresses safeguards: every protocol is simulated before robots run it, and humans approve designs and supervise the work. These are early research results, not treatments, but they hint at faster discovery in biology.
