ETH Zurich teaches a robotic hand to walk on its fingers
MIT CSAIL spotlighted ETH Zurich research that taught a humanlike robotic hand to walk on its fingers, comparing it to Thing from The Addams Family. According to the paper, the self-contained hand, with onboard power and computing, learned through reinforcement learning to crawl, steer and recover from falls. While holding up its own weight, it can also type keyboard commands and push objects to targets. These details come from the post by @MIT_CSAIL and the paper.
