Claude designs leaner quantum circuits than the best published ones
Anthropic shared new work from its STEM Fellows Program, done with Harvard researchers. Given plain language instructions and an automated evaluator that checks and scores each design, Claude Mythos 5 proposed quantum circuits that Anthropic says improve on the best published ones, “sometimes by an order of magnitude or more.” Leaner circuits mean quantum algorithms need fewer resources, which the company says could bring useful applications in chemistry and materials science within reach sooner.
